We continuously enhance the MGH PALS app based on real-time feedback from clinicians to ensure the optimal experience in delivering life-saving care at the bedside.
The MGH PALS app, created by physicians trained at Harvard in collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA), aims to assist fellow healthcare professionals such as physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in providing the highest standard of pediatric advanced life support (PALS) directly where it is needed. Inspired by the widespread adoption of our MGH ACLS app across more than 100 countries, this initiative thrives on continuous input from clinician users, influencing enhancements in app design, feature sets, and functionality.
MGH PALS stands out as the sole app with all content scrutinized by both the AHA science team—holding the license for PALS content—and actively practicing physicians associated with Harvard.
When aiming for the best chances of survival during acute life-threatening situations, patient welfare calls for leveraging top-tier digital healthcare aids. In pursuit of this mission, we have meticulously crafted a complimentary, user-friendly mobile application vetted by professionals to support healthcare providers, regardless of their stage of training, in navigating PALS procedures at the patient's side.
Features:
- Intuitively designed for swift access to PALS pathways (e.g., cardiac arrest, tachycardia with pulse, bradycardia with pulse, post-cardiac arrest care, and critical care references).
- Incorporates comprehensive PALS content encompassing drug therapy and dosages, reversible causes, and more.
- User-friendly timers and capability to record CPR rounds, epinephrine doses, and defibrillations.
- Integration of a button within the cardiac arrest algorithm enabling a quick shift to the post-cardiac arrest care checklist upon achieving Return of Spontaneous Circulation (ROSC).
- Relevant critical care references including medications used in PALS (medication names, indications, doses), vital signs in children, pediatric color-coded length-based resuscitation tape (Breslow tape), and pediatric Glasgow Coma Scale.
- All content undergoes strict scrutiny by the AHA science team and actively practicing physicians linked to Harvard.
- Regular updates to ensure incorporation of the most recent PALS guidelines.
